EMAIL TO CHURCH FAMILY 21st March 2023

You might have heard by now - on Sunday we announced (N.B. please sit down!), that Epsom Vineyard have been offered the gift of a church building by the Trustees & Members of West Ewell Evangelical Church (WEEC).

If you missed the announcement on Sunday, here's the clip from the Livestream (it's about 6 mins, so please watch it over a cuppa!).

EV's Trustees have accepted this kind & generous offer, and we will enter into a 'transition period' where both churches can instruct Solicitors, Surveyors and work through the legal & logistical details of what this looks like.

If you've got any questions please ask (hello@epsomvineyard.org), and the following FAQs may help!!

We are SOOOOOOO grateful to WEEC members for this incredible offer. We are really excited to be invited into what God is doing in this place.

Huge Blessings,

Duncan & Lorna

Key FAQs -
Q1. Are we moving Sunday Services from Blenheim to WEEC?
A1. No, the space isn't large enough to accommodate us all on Sundays. Think instead of this as our 'Church Centre' for all our 'mid-week' & evening activities.

Q2. What has actually been offered?
A2. We've been offered to use the building for free during the transition period. Once that period has been completed, EV will become the new 'owners' of the building and will steward it's use for as long as The Lord allows us. With the church building there is also a generous financial gift that will support any maintenance or repairs.

Q3. Why are we being gifted it?
A3. The membership of WEEC has dwindled over the years, to the point where the current members are looking at how the building can continue to serve Epsom & Ewell, and particularly the residents who live close by. WEEC Trustees have said that The Lord has led them to this point, and when they looked over our Statement of Faith, it was to make sure we would continue to invite the presence & work of the Holy Spirit into the building!

Q4. Is it too good to be true?
A4. If we didn't serve a generous God, the answer would be - yes, it probably is too good to be true! But we'd already started to pray about midweek venues to rent, and our sense is that The Lord has gone before us....

Q5. When will EV take on the ownership of the building?
A5. We are still in discussions about this. WEEC Trustees would like to support us through the transition to ensure that this is a successful handover. Alongside this, WEEC & EV have due diligence to complete, including surveys, and conveyancing. Neither church is in a rush, and there is genuine grace within our conversations as they have intensified over the past few weeks. The key starting point for us is that we can commence using the building now, whilst we work through the transition. We will of course keep you in the loop at each key stage!

Q6. Where is it?
A7. The address is 23, Lansdowne Road, West Ewell, Surrey, KT19 9QJ
